NM steels  are a group of high-strength steels with increased wear resistance, produced in China. NM steel is an analogue of Hardox and is almost as good as the Swedish steel grade in terms of characteristics. Rolled metal products made of NM steel have increased hardness and strength. This makes it suitable for use in conditions of high wear and abrasive effects. Therefore, NM steel  is widely used in the mining, construction and agricultural industries.

Application areas of special steel NM:

1. Road, agricultural and construction machinery: crushers, screeners, loading devices, measuring bins, skip hoists, cutting edges, conveyors, buckets, knives, gears, chain wheels,
2. Road construction, bridge construction, underground tunnel construction; railway construction, carriage building;
3. Trucks, metalworking machines, bulldozers, excavators, electric cars, dump trucks, loaders and removable equipment for them;
4. Pulp pipeline systems;
5. Screw conveyors, presses, etc.

NM steel sheets are produced in such grades as NM360, NM400, NM450, NM500, etc. The chemical composition of the steel includes manganese, which provides high strength, wear resistance, and resistance to impact loads. Additional alloying elements improve the main operational properties.

NM400 steel  is the most common of the NM series of abrasion-resistant sheet materials. 400 is the Brinell hardness value HB (the hardness value is generalized, the internal hardness range of NM400 is 380-420). Due to its high toughness and excellent weldability, this type of steel is often used as a structural and abrasion-resistant sheet material at the same time. The hardness of a product made of  NM 400 steel is usually between 360 and 450HB.
