NM steel is a group of durable steels with increased wear resistance, produced in China. These steels are comparable to Swedish Hardox in their characteristics. Rolled metal products made of NM steel have increased hardness and strength, which makes them ideal for use in conditions of high wear resistance and abrasive effects. Therefore, NM steel is widely used in the mining, construction and agricultural industries.

The application of special steel NM 500 covers the following areas:

1. Machines for road, agricultural and construction purposes, such as: crushers, screeners, loading devices, measuring bins, skip hoists, cutting edges, conveyors, buckets, knives, gears, chain wheels.
2. Construction of roads, bridges, underground tunnels and railways, as well as the production of wagons.
3. Trucks, metalworking machines, bulldozers, excavators, electric cars, dump trucks, loaders and equipment for them.
4. Pulp pipeline systems.
5. Screw conveyors, presses and other equipment.

NM steel sheets are available in various grades such as NM360, NM400 , NM450, NM500.
The steel contains manganese, which gives it high strength, wear resistance and resistance to impact loads. Additional alloying elements improve its performance properties.

NM500 steel  is particularly used where long service life is required under abrasion resistance conditions or when working with very hard rocks or minerals. Typically, this steel is used in the mining industry. The hardness of a product made of  NM 500 steel is usually between 450 and 550HB.
